Reydiant’s Therapeutic Oils such as our Baby, Mommy and Facial Range are made only of Natural ingredients consisting of Only Carrier oils and Essential Oils.

So let’s get started:

What is a Carrier Oil?

A carrier oil is a base oil. This is the oil/s that is used to dilute the essential oils. The carrier oils used in Reydiant products are all plant based oils. Reydiant’s Natural skincare and body care products are mainly comprised of vegetable oils and essential oils.

Carrier oils are mainly produced from the seeds of plants. Vegetable based carrier oils are our preferred choice due its small molecular structure, which makes it an ideal medium in which to dilute/carry the essential oils. This enables/facilitates the essential oils to be absorbed into the skin. Due to the carrier oils being derived from plants/vegetables they have numerous benefits for the skin and body.

We at Reydiant ensure that we use only the best quality Cold-Pressed Carrier oils to ensure not only quality but also safety.

The Benefits of the Carrier Oils used in Reydiant’s Products:

Sweet Almond Oil is a mild oil from the sweet almond that has a light texture and is hypoallergenic making it very gentle on the skin. It softens and conditions hair and skin. Almond oil is rich in magnesium, zinc, and calcium. It also has skin nourishing properties.

Grapeseed Oil has a very thin viscosity and is ideal for oily skin due to its slightly astringent properties. It contains may vitamins, minerals and proteins making it excellent to use on the skin, as it nourishes the skin.

Avocado Oil is a slightly thick oil that is dark green in colour and it is obtained from the fruit of the Avocado. It contains vitamins, proteins, fatty acids and lecithin which make it very moisturising for the skin. It is especially used for dry skin as well as for eczema.

Castor Oil is a very thick, viscous oil. It is high in vitamin E and fatty acids which support hair growth and strength and is also naturally antibacterial and anti-fungal. It is rich in ricin oleic acid and is used in cosmetics and skin care due to its wound healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Jojoba Oil (Pronounced hohoba), is actually a plant wax which is closest to our body’s natural sebum which is obtained from the bean of the plant and contains proteins, minerals, and has a waxy substance that mimics collagen. This makes it an excellent skin care product and it is tolerated very well by most skin types. This oil helps to balance oil production in the skin keeping acne at bay. Jojoba oil also does an excellent job of coating new growth, thus strengthening hair and helping to prevent breakage. It is anti-inflammatory, can be used for acne and psoriasis, and it is highly penetrative into the skin.

Olive Oil is green in colour and is generally viscous, unless it is not a very good quality. It contains vitamins, minerals and proteins that aid in skin nourishment. It is very good for dry skin.

Coconut Oil is a very thick, semi-solid oil depending on the temperature at which it is kept. It can easily solidify in the cold. It is a very nourishing oil and is good for both skin and hair. It is a nutrient rich oil.

Wheatgerm Oil this is not a very popular or well-known oil. It is yellow in colour and contains many vitamins, minerals and proteins. It is a very powerful oil therefore we use it in small quantities as the recommended use for it to be used is in a 1-10% dilution. It has skin healing properties which make it excellent for dry skin, eczema, psoriasis and ageing skin.

Although carrier oils have numerous benefits for the skin and body, the essential oils are the ingredients that possess the healing properties for the therapeutic oils.
