So what is the Oil Cleansing Method?
The oil cleansing method is a simple way of cleansing your skin using Oils! Yes, you read correctly, I said Oils.
OILS!!?? For Cleansing? Are you crazy? How could Oils possibly cleanse my skin? I’m trying to get rid of Oily skin!
That’s just it, for years we’ve been told that we need to wash away dirt and oils from our skin in order to keep our skin looking clean and fresh.
However, this is simply not true. Soapy cleansers are not necessary to clean your skin. In actual fact what you doing is stripping your skins naturals oils and drying out your skin.
This is why a toner and moisturizer is imperative when using soapy cleansers because you need to restore your skins oils that you just washed away.
Oils are necessary for healthy, fresh, glowing skin.
How does it work?
Basically oil cleansing is based on the principle that “Like attracts like” and that “oil dissolves oil”.
Since your skin naturally produces oils and sebum, you are replacing the “dirty” oils with clean oils. The oil that you apply to your face to cleanse with, pulls out all the dirt and bacteria that developed on your skin during the day and/or night and replaces this with clean oils, thereby promoting your skin to naturally balance its oils. The oil used to massage your skin will dissolve the oil that has hardened with impurities and found itself stuck in your pores. The steam will open your pores, allowing the oil to be easily removed. Should you need it, the smallest drop of the same oil formula patted over damp skin will provide the necessary lubrication to keep your skin from over-compensating in oil production.
Another benefit of using the oil cleansing method is its anti-ageing. Since you massage the oils into your skin this promotes collagen production and firms the skin thereby reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Where do I find Oil Cleansers?
Reydiant has specifically designed Facial Oil Cleansers for every skin type! So you could easily purchase a ready to use Oil cleanser. Alternatively, you could make your own using various oils and matching them to your skin type. Oils that are typically used are Coconut oil, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil etc., however, going this route can work out to be quite expensive.

Step 6: Rinse cloth with cold water and apply cold cloth to your face for 30 seconds – 1 minute to close pores. (Optional)

Keep in mind however, that this skin regime is the same as when switching to any new product and your skin could take a week or two to get used to it. It is fairly common for people to breakout in the first week or two of using this method as your skin is detoxing. If you find that you are still breaking out after more than 4 weeks of doing the Oil cleansing method with the same product/blend of oils, it could mean that the oils you are using are not agreeing with your skin type. It is recommended then to use a different blend of oils.
Please Note: It is not necessary to use the Oil Cleansing method every day. In the beginning you will do it every day but after a while you will notice that once every second day is sufficient, unless you wear make-up every day and use it to remove your make-up.
